Re: Where's my regional?
Wed, May 13, 2009 - 8:16 PMYou might just have to start a new regional yourself. But of course you'd have to talk to BMORG.

Re: Where's my regional?
Thu, May 14, 2009 - 9:34 AMIt has occurred to me recently that the lack of Regionals in most places might be primarily due to the lifestyle of the indigenous peoples.
These are the 10 principles of Burningman: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self-reliance, Radical Self-expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leaving No Trace, Participation, Immediacy.
As Burners in the USA, we attempt to practice these things when at a Burn (with various degrees of success and intensity), but why go to a Burn if your life, ALL 365 days of the year, you do these things? A Burn would no longer be such a unique and beautiful place to escape from the drudgery of the rest of your life would it. Your life would BE one big Burn.
If Durgy, you don't have a Burn nearby, maybe you should consider yourself lucky. If you don't have one, and the society you live in doesn't practice the 10 principles in any way, then it's certainly high time to Bring the Fire! -

I currently do not see a regional in your area, it is up to you to start it!

Re: Where's my regional?
Sun, July 19, 2009 - 3:35 AMI figured as much (that I am not covered in any particular regional). Maybe I should get Andie to send me information. Though unfortunately, the largest Middle East contingent (I believe from Israel) would not banned from traveling into Bahrain for our "burn".
I just got my ticket today (had booked my travel arrangements months ago). Maybe I'll see y'all in Black Rock City. I am camping at the Black Rock Beacon (likely in the 9:00 plaza, though I have not seen a placement map yet).
