Any burners from Scotland or Ireland out there?
I've been thinking about next years vacation already, and I've always wanted to go to both places. I'm hoping to run into a few new friends and get some ideas of where to go when I get there. Actually both time and place, thats why I'm starting to look now.
Stonehenge and the Guinness brewery are already on the list.

Mon, April 7, 2008 - 11:33 AMHere's a link to some Euroburner mailing lists, including Scotland and Ireland, the main one being Playadust.

The usual thing is to post to the list a few weeks before you intend to arrive requesting local friendly Burners to put a roof over your head and show you the local subculture.
The Dublin and London Decoms are in mid November/first weekend in December, respectively, if you can time it right -

Wed, April 9, 2008 - 7:27 AMI've enjoyed the youth hostels, but I would recommend at LEAST one bed and breakfast for a good breakfast/meal sometime on your trip.
Quiet places: Abderdeen (Scotland) and Six Mile Bridge (Ireland). Six Mile is tiny and we found a place that picked us up and took us horsebackriding, didn't cost too much. Also check Dingle... it's a quaint town, west coast Ireland. Also has a hostel with full kitchen.
You can fly between the Scotland and Ireland really cheap if you get tickets early enough.
Scotland would be agreat place to rent a car for a few days (if you feel comfortable driving) because of the scenery. Take care driving, though!
