Hi Everyone!
As you may have heard by now, the Official Burning Man Chicago
Decompression 2007 will take place at Hubbard and Wolcott, on the near
west side of the city, on Saturday, 9/29, starting at 2:00 in the
afternoon, and going well into the night. This is the same location as our
first, wildly ass-kickin urban decompression last year. WE NEED YOUR HELP
in putting together an event that will be at least as awesomely radical as
last
year's. If you would like to help volunteer to make this event happen,
here's what's needed, and who to contact.
SETUP: Setup for this event will take place starting at 5:00 P.M. on the
evening of Friday, 9/28, and on the morning of Saturday, 9/29, right up
until our 2:00 start time. We will need lots of help generally. CONTACT:
Yours truly, Downtown Dave, at this e-mail address.
CLEANUP: Cleanup for Decomp07 will take place late/early on Sunday morning
if you have the energy, and during the daytime on Sunday, 9/30. WE CANNOT
POSSIBLY HAVE TOO MUCH HELP WITH THIS PART OF THE EVENT! WE WILL LEAVE NO
TRACE. CONTACT: Willy - devotionliner@gmail.com.
DPW: We will need people to help setup and tear down several structures and
larger scale installations including a stage, sheets for privacy and art
work & cetera. CONTACT: Devin - dev@nuclearblender.com
GREETERS: We will need people to act as greeters, and to help collect
donations at the door, and welcome folks into our Decomp throughout the
event. CONTACT: Barkley - barkley@barkley.org.
RANGERS: Rangers are expected to be sober people during the event, who
will help keep an eye out for law enforcement, and help mediate and
problems that arise amongst the participants, in the very unlikely event
that there are any. CONTACT: Shoebocks - drshoebocks@comcast.net.
This e-mail is mostly geared towards people who want to help with critical
infrastructure for this event. If you are interested in any type of
performance, installation, or bringing art for either outside, or inside,
please get back to me and I can direct you to whomever you need to talk to
with regards to your particular area of interest.
Looking forward to seeing. Defaultia doesn't have to suck!
Downtown Dave
